The real purpose of dual bore air-cushion design...
【What Is the T-N.T. Air-Cushion Effect?】
The T-N.T. patented Air-Cushion Inner Barrel features a “Dual Bore One-Piece Design.” In simple terms, two different inner diameter sections are machined within a single precision inner barrel. By controlling airflow distribution through these diameter variations, the system helps stabilize airflow around the BB as it travels through the barrel and exits the muzzle.
The core purpose of this design is not simply to increase FPS, but to improve several performance areas that are far more important for actual shooting performance, including:
• Trajectory stability
• Shooting consistency
• Grouping performance
• Stability after the BB exits the barrel
• Long-range flight consistency
【How Does the Air-Cushion Effect Work?】
At the moment of firing, the expanding gas propels the BB forward through the inner barrel. Since the airflow velocity is typically faster than the BB itself, part of the gas flow reaches the front section of the barrel before the BB arrives.
As the gas enters the larger inner diameter section near the barrel exit, the airflow behind the BB creates a surrounding cushion effect around the projectile. We define this design — which uses airflow to envelop the BB and reduce disturbance as the BB exits the barrel — as the “Air-Cushion Effect.”
This design concept works like a stabilized layer of airflow surrounding the BB, helping reduce unnecessary vibration and deviation as the projectile leaves the muzzle, while improving trajectory stability and shooting consistency.

【Why Does the Air-Cushion Effect Improve Stability?】
In conventional inner barrels, unstable airflow release near the muzzle can create sudden disturbances as the BB exits the barrel. Even small airflow inconsistencies may directly affect:
• BB exit angle
• Flight trajectory stability
• Left/right deviation
• Long-range grouping performance
The T-N.T. Dual Bore Air-Cushion Inner Barrel uses a larger inner diameter near the muzzle to allow airflow to release more naturally while maintaining a more balanced airflow distribution around the BB.
This helps reduce disturbances during the BB’s transition out of the barrel and improves:
• BB exit vibration
• Trajectory deviation
• Left/right instability
• Grouping inconsistency
• Long-range trajectory variation
For most players, the most noticeable improvement is usually not raw FPS increase, but rather a more stable trajectory, tighter grouping, and improved shot-to-shot consistency.

【Advantages of the One-Piece Dual Bore Design】
Unlike segmented or joined barrel structures, the T-N.T. Air-Cushion Inner Barrel is manufactured using a one-piece dual bore machining process within a single barrel body.
This design helps minimize structural alignment errors while improving overall barrel coaxiality. In precision inner barrels, better coaxial alignment generally means fewer disturbances and less deviation as the BB travels through the barrel.
Because of this, we place strong emphasis on machining precision and overall structural consistency during development.
Key advantages include:
• One-piece machining for reduced structural error
• Improved barrel coaxiality
• Better BB exit stability
• Improved shooting consistency
• Enhanced long-range trajectory stability
【Compatible Platforms】
The T-N.T. Dual Bore Air-Cushion Inner Barrel is designed as a universal platform system. By selecting the appropriate T-N.T. HOP rubber for each platform, the barrel can be installed on most AEG, GBB, and VSR systems.
Since feed position, nozzle length, and HOP structure vary between platforms, we still recommend using the correct T-N.T. HOP rubber configuration to achieve the best shooting consistency and trajectory performance.
